Autumn Seminar 2024 at the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich
This time, the traditional autumn seminar in the demonstration auditorium at the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich will focus on asymmetry and handedness in and on the horse, as well as rein forces. The question of which asymmetries in horses are natural, acquired, and/or health-related will be addressed by Dr. Selma Latif, a veterinarian, and Peter Menet, a specialist who has been working in the saddle industry for over 40 years. In the second part, PD Dr. Dominik Burger from ISME Bern and Avenches and MSc Mech Eng Bernhard Weisse from Empa in Dübendorf will provide insights into the new flagship project of the Pro Pferd Foundation. For the first time, a holistic approach will be used to investigate the effects of rein forces in connection with biomechanical and physical factors. Registered patrons of Pro Pferd, as well as students, benefit from a reduced participation fee of CHF 40. NON-patrons pay CHF 100. Here is the link to the program and registration.
